School of Persian and Complementary Medicine

 

 

 

The mission of the School of Persian and Complementary Medicine is multi-faceted, aiming to achieve several objectives

 

1. Cultivating competent and ethical experts in two fields; Persian Medicine, and Acupuncture, who are dedicated to education, treatment, and research, with a focus on tailoring their efforts to meet the specific needs of the community and the rigorous standards of the medical university. The overarching goal is to contribute to the enhancement of community health.

 

 

 

 

2. Educating Persian Medicine and Acupuncture students in accordance with the curriculum prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education, with a particular emphasis on specialized training within the Joint Diseases Clinic
3. Equipping medical students with a comprehensive understanding of Persian Medicine and Acupuncture principles, thereby enabling them to integrate their knowledge of Conventional Medicine with Persian Medicine, and acupuncture, to advance community health and seamlessly collaborate with healthcare professionals as Integrative Medicine doctors
 

 

 

In addition to these core objectives, our departments are committed to the following initiatives

 

 

  • Formulating and producing herbal drugs
  • Offering training and educational courses focused on manual interventions in Persian Medicine, and Acupuncture
  • Designing various research projects rooted in integrative medicine within the realms of Persian Medicine and Acupuncture
  • Integrating traditional skills and knowledge with modern technology to design and develop educational, clinical, and research activities in Persian Medicine and Acupuncture.
  • Expanding and elucidating different aspects of Persian Medicine and Acupuncture through the provision of courses and classes aimed at educating practitioners in therapeutic methods rooted in integrative medicine.
  • Conducting a range of clinical trials, including biologic interventions such as diet therapy, treatment with natural substances, acupuncture, and its various modalities, and adjunct methods in collaboration with departments of conventional medicine.
