Welcome to the School of Persian and Complementary Medicine! As one of the frontiers among   school of Persian and Complementary Medicine in Iran launched in 2010 and having the first and pioneering department of Acupuncture in Iran established in 2023 with the university’s founding, we take pride in our rich history and the distinction of being one of the most dynamic schools within the university and across the country.

Our success is attributed to the unwavering dedication and exceptional quality of our faculty, trainees, students, and support staff, all of whom flourish in the vibrant academic, interprofessional, and multicultural environment provided at MUMS. Our mission encompasses three core objectives: achieving excellence in research, teaching, and patient care. These interconnected goals form a mutually reinforcing triad that drives our department forward.

We conduct research across various levels, from basic to clinical research in the fields of Persian Medicine and Acupuncture, all with the simultaneous aim of enhancing patient health and advancing medical education. Our commitment includes striving to be one of the leading complementary medicine programs in the nation, with a particular emphasis on training future leaders in academic complementary medicine and outpatient care.
